Depression & Anxiety

70% Success Rate!

Ketamine treatment works entirely differently than treatments for depression that you’ve probably heard of in the past. For example, drugs such as oral SSRI antidepressants are believed to help balance out the brain by increasing serotonin levels. Ketamine, on the other hand, repairs damage to the brain that has resulted from long-term stress hormones, working on the brain’s NMDA receptors.

When the body experiences stress, it responds by releasing cortisol and other hormones into the brain that damage its pathways. Ketamine works to repair this and has been shown to have much more rapid effects on repairing brain plasticity.

During a ketamine infusion, patients are connected to an IV and a low dose of ketamine is administered for about 45 minutes. Ketamine is one of the older, safer medications that doctors use; is so safe as an anesthetic that much higher doses are frequently used in emergency procedures for children. Such doses are often times 4-10 times higher than what we administer.

Anxiety disorders also respond well to ketamine infusion therapy. Generalized anxiety is often brought on by stress and trauma and can lead to feelings of panic, heart palpitations, nausea, loss of appetite, or even a fear of dying. If you experience symptoms for a period of six months or more, you should seek a diagnosis for generalized anxiety or panic disorder. Anxiety disorders should always be treated in order to avoid worsening of symptoms or related disorders, such as depression.

Post-Tramatic Stress Disorder

Alleviate many of PTSD's most severe symptoms!

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, is best known for affecting veterans, police officers, and firefighters, but millions of others who have experienced or witnessed traumatic events suffer from PTSD as well. Left untreated, PTSD can lead to intrusive recurring memories, avoidance, hopelessness, detachment from family and friends, severe depression and anxiety, and even suicidal thoughts and actions.

IV ketamine therapy is a well tolerated treatment option for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

IV ketamine therapy provides rapid relief from core PTSD symptoms and co-morbid depressive symptoms in patients with chronic PTSD. It is most effective when used in conjunction with other treatments, like cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR and/or exposure-response prevention.
